Trooper von Tjark is a wonderful 4-5 year old German Shepherd. This handsome fuzzy bear is such a sweetheart. He approaches people politely and sometimes needs a little encouragement to get through new situations but, once he gets a sense that he’s following a friend, his tail starts wagging an, even as you pick up the pace, he stays walking right next to you. Trooper’s leash manners are second best only to his behavior around other dogs. Trooper does well with other friendly dogs both on leash and off. On leash, he enjoys the company of a walking partner or crossing paths with a new friend. In playgroups, he enters calmly and politely accepts all sniffs hello. Trooper is low-to-mid energy so he’s not into puppy action; instead, he stays out of trouble and comes back to you for affirmation that he’s been a good boy. With Trooper’s calm temperment, manageable medium size and darling personality, he will be a great fit in many homes. However, what he’s really asking for is a place that doesn’t just take him for the cuddly pup that he already is (and boy, does he like cuddles) but also sees the potential he has to be a confident and smart boy.
